People often panic when I mention giving up dairy for health and well being.
What about bone health?!
Well the countries that consume the most dairy (US and Sweden) actually have the highest rates of osteoporosis so that clearly blows that argument out of the water.
You can get vast amounts of calcium from leafy green veg anyway so even more reason to eat more of those.
But also massively important is Vitamin D
The sun is the ultimate giver of all life and one of the most important anti cancer, anti obesity tools by providing the nutrient Vitamin D. Yes of course respect the sun, but ignoring its incredible health and benefits is not the wisest thing to do. Vitamin D is not a vitamin but in fact a hormone. It is unique in that it is made in the skin as a result of exposure to sunlight.
The skin has a large capacity to make vitamin D. Exposure of a person with minimum clothing on for than 15-20 minutes on a very sunny day in the UK in June or July at between 12 – 3 p.m. can expect to get a 20,000 IU dose of vitamin D the lighter the skin the less time in the sun required to get this dose.
